Junior Information Security Analyst Apprentice

Division: Technology

Location: London but initially remote working

Level 3 Apprenticeship – 18 months 

Salary: £19,747 per annum

Despite the current circumstances we are still actively recruiting for roles. In compliance with UK Government advice relating to COVID-19 this role will be remotely based in line with our current workforce and we will supply you with the tools and technologies to enable you to do so. Similarly all interviews will be conducted by google hangouts or equivalent video conferencing technologies.

About the Junior Information Security Analyst Apprentice

The purpose of this apprenticeship is to provide first line support to ensure all systems used, and proposed for use, in Which? meet and maintain appropriate levels of Information Security. This will include monitoring systems to detect potential security threats and to engage as necessary to support secure and uninterrupted business operations.

It’s an exciting time for us and you will be part of a new information security team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Applying procedures and controls to maintain the security and control of Which? systems and environment
  • Monitoring, identifying, reporting and escalating information security threats, incidents and events in accordance with relevant procedures and standards
  • Contributing to documenting the scope and evaluating the results of vulnerability assessments in accordance with management requirements
  • Conducting regular reviews of access rights to digital information assets in accordance with relevant procedures and standards
  • Assisting in the maintenance of an asset register of Which? environments in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and standards
  • Monitoring information security compliance and providing relevant data to management and/or auditors if required
  • Collaborating with colleagues from different teams to support secure and uninterrupted business operations of Which?

About you

The most important thing for us is your enthusiasm and desire to learn and develop.

You will have a real appetite for cyber security and will be looking to pursue this as a future career. You will be able to demonstrate your interest in this area and have a real inquisitiveness.  You might have some experience through a school or college project, or it might be a hobby or passion of yours.

You’ll relish the chance to be part of an exciting new team and not be afraid to contribute to the team’s objectives.

You’ll be a great communicator both verbally and written and will be organised and able to prioritise you own workload effectively.

You’ll take the opportunity to use your own initiative and to work independently ensuring accuracy in all that you do.

What you can expect as a Which? Apprentice

It’s an exciting time for us as we launch our apprenticeships programme and we have many activities planned.  These include comprehensive Which? onboarding and local onboarding programmes where you will get to meet other Which? apprentices.

Additional activities include mentoring throughout your programme to provide you with support and networking events. We will also support you with study induction to help you keep on track with your qualification.

We will also help you to develop broader skills such as CV writing and interview skills as well as life skills such as, diversity and inclusion and mental health awareness. You will also have full access to LinkedIn Learning which provides learning in a broad range of subjects.

We love a celebration in Which? and we will help you celebrate keystone events as you reach different stages by organising celebratory events and sharing your stories.

About COVID-19

In line with current UK Government advice, we’re likely to interview you using video conferencing technology like Google Hangouts or similar. If we hire you we’ll supply you with the tools and technologies to work remotely until it’s safe for you to come to work in the office.
